East Lake Historical Society will hold its 6th Annual Heritage Festival on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 9 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. at the East Lake County Library located at 31340 CR 437 S in Sorrento.
The festivities begin with music by Blackwater Creek Bluegrass Band. At 10 A. M. the Eustis High School AFJROTC will present the Flag Ceremony, then the MIA/POW table Ceremony. Our guest speaker, Rick Reed, a Historical writer with the Daily Commercial, will speak about “Keeping History Alive.”
For the first time this year we will hold a “Show and Shine” event of ATVs and mud trucks. Other participants are dulcimers, nature exhibits, government/civic organizations, crafters, historical societies, Veterans Wall of Honor, historical slide show, storytellers, Chinese auction, silent auction, antique cars, games for all ages including a cornhole tournament, petting zoo, face painting and balloon art by the Hallelujah Clowns Troop, children’s crafts, comfort food and sweet shop.
Admission and parking is free. Bring your lawn chairs, there is enough fun and pleasure for the whole day.
