Five year old Bennett Parady created a blanket charity for those in need this holiday season. He made his own collection boxes, signs, and video to promote “Bennett’s Blanket Charity” with a goal to collect twenty-nine blankets. Family members, friends, and residents in The Villages helped Bennett collect over 350 new blankets!
Bennett delivered his blankets personally to several services in Central Florida, including Open Door in Eustis, Fresh Start Ministries, Leesburg Neighborhood Services Center, Christian Care Center Children’s Shelter in Leesburg, Miss Leesburg Pagaent coat and blanket drive, and UP Orlando. Bennett says his favorite part of doing the charity was “how happy the people were and how nice it was to help others.”
Bennett was inspired by his dad, Greg Parady, CEO of Parady Financial, Inc., who personally and through his company’s foundation Parady Cares looks for ways throughout the year to support those in need. Bennett also helped deliver coats for Parady Financial’s Coats for Kids campaign and a $10,000.00 check to OCPS teacher Patty Green for her middle school AVID program that teaches kids the keys to personal and academic success. Bennett can’t wait for next year to expand his charity to reach even more people!
