Celebrating Armed Forces Day and History

East Lake Historical Society will have its 4th Annual Heritage Festival, May 20, 2017 at the East Lake County Library from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Armed Forces Day begins with the Opening Ceremony at 10:00am. The Mount Dora High School ROTC will conduct the Flag Ceremony and a special tribute to honor our Veterans. We send out a special invitation to all Veterans and service men and women.
Scott Amey will speak about the Veterans Wall he created inside the liberty, recognizing and giving tribute to all Veterans.
Our Guest Speakers are Lake County Commissioner Leslie Campione, District 4. Tim Sullivan, retired Brigadier General completing 33 years of military service. He is currently serving on the Lake County Board of County Commissioners. Cary Baker retired from the guard as First Sergeant and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He currently serving as Lake County Property Appraiser.
There will be many exhibits for your pleasure such as; environmental, government, parts and trails, civic groups, historical society, indigo conservation and birds of prey from the avian reconditioning center.
Other activities and entertainment are; storytellers, blue grass music, gospel music, dulcimers, children’s crafts, plant sale, country store, sweet shoppe and comfort food.
