Registration Opens July 13 for Lake
Technical Center’s Fall Term
Lake Technical Center is currently accepting applications for prospective
students to begin their training for the fall 2009 term which begins
August 24, 2009. Programs open for enrollment include: Accounting
Operations, Administrative Assistant, Architectural Drafting, Auto
Collision Repair and Refinishing, Business Computer Programming,
Commercial Art Technology, Commercial Foods and Culinary Arts, Commercial
Foods and Culinary Arts Apprenticeship, day and evening Cosmetology,
Early Childhood Education Apprenticeship, Facial Specialty, Heavy
Duty Truck and Bus (Diesel Mechanics), day and evening Welding,
and Nail Specialty.
Registration opens July 13, 2009; however, prospective students
are strongly encouraged to complete their financial aid paperwork
as soon as possible.
August 5, 2009, is the deadline for the August 17th Firefighting
classes offered at the Institute of Public Safety in Tavares. Students
interested in the Practical Nursing Evening class may apply in October
2009.
Students attending a Lake County public high school or a Florida
private secondary school may be eligible to participate in dual
enrollment if they meet required criteria. Eligible home school
students who are registered with Lake County schools may also participate.

Students may also enroll in short-term classes. The fall 2009

Adult Education day and evening classes, including English for
Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Adult Basic Education (ABE),
General Education Development (GED), and Vocational Preparatory
Instruction (VPI) are available at various locations throughout
Lake County. Online instruction for ABE, GED and VPI is also available.

Lake Technical Center is a public postsecondary institution offering

Most programs are approved for VA. Eligible veterans may be certified
through the Financial Aid Office. Financial aid such as Pell Grants
and other scholarships may be available to those who qualify. Lake
