Cornerstone Hospice Offers Volunteer Training

Posted on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at 1:18 am

Cornerstone Hospice and Palliative Care seeks volunteers in Lake County willing to give a few hours a week to assist with its mission of caring for patients facing life-limiting illnesses.
Volunteers can offer just a few hours a week to visit with patients, run errands, assist staff and visitors in the Tavares Hospice House, help with office duties, participate in fundraising and community education, and much more. Military veterans can also volunteer to honor fellow veterans under Cornerstone Hospice care.
“Being a Cornerstone Hospice volunteer is incredibly rewarding,” said Bettie LoCicero, Volunteer Specialist. “We want to make sure that our patients and their families across Lake County get the support they need.”
Volunteers must undergo training, a background check (facilitated by Cornerstone) and a tuberculosis test. The upcoming volunteer class consists of two sessions, and participants must attend both:
Friday, August 11 and Friday, August 18 – 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
4215 CR 561, Tavares

A light lunch and refreshments will be provided. Interested participants must register in advance by calling Bettie LoCicero at (352) 742-6827 or emailing
