Featured Artists for June at Artisans on fifth

Artisans on fifth, a non-profit, co-operative art gallery in downtown Mount Dora, will feature the artwork of three artists during June. They have their work featured in the front window at Artisans on fifth 134 E 5th Ave. in Mt. Dora, FL. Their work is also for sale in the artist co-op. Two or three artists are featured each month so the front window changes monthly.

Joyce Brady creates magnificent wearable art using beadweaving and other techniques. She often has necklaces, bracelets and earrings to match. Her jewelry is a work of art in itself. More of her work can be seen at www.artisansonfifth.com/joyce-eaton-brady.html.
Heather J.W. Hopcraft is a fiber artist who creates cute tote bags, purses, and infant wear. Her work is either knitted, crocheted or sewn and includes mixed media. During the Art in the Alley event on June 14th from 6 to 9pm Heather Hopcraft will be at Artisans on fifth to tell you about her work.
Artisans on fifth is dedicated to giving back to the community through an Annual Student Art Exhibit, Marilyn Dodge Scholarship for Visual Arts & Lee Dodge Scholarship for Performing Arts (given yearly to a high school students), and Bra-Vo (an art bra fundraiser).
The co-operative features the work of over 30 local artists representing a broad range of mediums, from woodwork to painting to jewelry. The venture started with a dedicated small group of local artists, and with the help of the Mount Dora Center for the Arts, was launched as a venue for local, emerging artists to display their work in a professional gallery setting. The artists also staff the shop, and frequently offer demonstrations of their work while performing their routine staff duties.

Fifth Avenue in Mount Dora, and is on the downstairs level of the historic brick building occupied by the Mount Dora Center for the Arts, Hours are Sunday (11am-5pm) and Tuesday through Saturday, 10am-5pm., except for special events.
