Firefighters Save Ducklings

Posted on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 1:24 am

Mount Dora Firefighters from Station 34 were called out to the Dogwood Mountain Reserve in reference to a mother duck who was in distress. Firefighters discovered her ducklings were trapped in a storm drain. Our firefighters worked diligently to retrieve them and were able to rescue two of the little ducklings. There were two others they could not rescue, but it is believed they made it down to the retention pond at the end of the drain. Babies and momma duck were happily reunited. We love it when our firefighters can save not just people, but animals too!
