My 40 Pound Weight Loss Transformation

40 pound weight loss

Just 2 years ago I held in my arms my new 10 lb. baby boy. He is my third child and I weighed 175 lbs. I was thrilled with my baby but not my weight. I ate quite healthy food and usually did put on weight but I also just didn't seem to lose weight like I saw other women did after having children. I spent an entire year trying fad diets and trying to squeeze in some exercise only to lose a few pounds each month. I tried a mail order diet with food that came in a box and lost 5 lbs., but when I started eating regularly again it came back on. I also tried the flat belly diet but the results were just a pound a week and it was not enough to keep me motivated.

Married to a local doctor that promoted health, I felt embarrassed and ashamed of how I looked. Then I noticed my health deteriorating. I had been noticing pains in the area of my gallbladder for some time. I was chronically tired. I was often out of breath, and couldn't keep up with my kids. And If I went too long between meals I would start to get the body shakes, tremors, blurred vision and lack of concentration. I clearly had blood sugar problems. I was pre-diabetic and didn't know.

Then to top off my frustration my kids had a game called a Wii Fit. I stood on the board of the game and it weighed me. The video game then announced "You are obese!" I was shocked. No doctor had told me this. Turns out that if you are 30 lbs. over the recommend weight you are obese. No wonder my health was at risk. I had no idea how to lose this weight.

In August 2010 my husband and I attended the annual chiropractic convention in Orlando. There we saw another chiropractic couple we knew and they told us about the new nutritional diet program they had recently started in their clinic. We found out all the information we could. I took an extensive health assessment and started the diet plan recommended for me immediately. The health assessment results had showed me that I was pre-diabetic, I had a slightly underactive thyroid, and my hormone levels were not balanced. These three things together were that cause of the poor health. Because of these problems my body was also in fat storing mode. My hormones needed to be rebalanced and put back in to fat burning mode. This was done through natural supplementation and the right type of diet for my body.

The first week I lost 4 lbs. The second week on the diet 3 lbs. The third week again 3 lbs. This was enough to keep me motivated. At last something that worked. I lost an average of 10 lbs. a month. In 4 short months I had lost 40 lbs. I felt and looked like a different person and my health problems we gone.

During this transformation my husband and I took a trip to Utah to meet the doctors who created this diet. There we took an extensive training course in how this kind of diet works and how to help our current patients.
