Posted on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 1:27 pm

The City of Mount Dora will be the setting for the first ever Latin Festival at Sunset Park. On Sunday, January 28, 2018, Sunset Park will become the stage for food, drinks and Latin performances; all to benefit the island of Puerto Rico, which suffered devastating damage from Hurricane Maria. Puerto Rico is still suffering from the effects of Maria, which hit in September. Maria is considered to be the worst natural disaster on record to hit Puerto Rico.
The City of Mount Dora has donated the venue for the Latin Festival The city values and fosters the wellbeing of the community and fellow municipalities. The city offers support to Puerto Rico in this time of hardship and encourage solidarity against adversity.
Many of us in Mount Dora have friends and family on the island that still need help. All proceeds from food sales will go directly to Por Los Nuestros, a charity set up to help those in need on the island. This is a FREE event and is open to the public!
The Market will be open from noon to 3 p.m. and festivities will begin at 3 p.m. at Sunset Park, 230 West 4th Avenue, Mount Dora. The festival will be from noon – 6 p.m.
