The Rotary Club of Leesburg (Sunrise) is proud to present our 30th Annual Blood Screening event Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Leesburg Community Building, 109 E. Dixie Ave, Leesburg, FL from 6:30am-10:30 am. This blood chemistry profile is an affordable way to detect possible problems with your liver, kidneys, heart, or blood sugar. It will also provide lipid testing and a CBC useful to detect anemia and other disorders.
These tests normally average $225-$400, but thanks to our partnership with Vista Labs we are able to keep the cost at only $45.
When you register for the basic test, there are three optional tests available that can be added for an additional fee:
The A1C test is available for an additional $20. This test provides information about a person’s average levels of blood sugar over the past 3 months.
A TSH test is available for an additional $25. This thyroid stimulating hormone test is used to screen for and help diagnose thyroid disorders.
Men may add a PSA test for an additional $25. This test is used primarily to screen for prostate cancer.
Registration forms and additional information are available online at http://www.leesburgsunriserotary.org.
Preregistration needs to reach us by February 13. Walk-ins the day of the event are welcome, but may experience delays.
Results are mailed directly to participant. Please share with your health care provider!
Over the years, we have received many “thank you’s” from individuals with medical problems which were first detected by this blood screening. Because of the screening, they have sought and received treatment sooner than they would have otherwise.
In addition to providing a direct health benefit to individuals who participate, the Annual Bloodscreening Project benefits the community because profits from this fundraiser are funneled back into the community. Support to the community has included a variety of local projects, including Haven, Deaf and Hearing Services, Leesburg Public Library, Leesburg Center for the Arts, the Santa Project, Boy Scouts, Samaritan Inn, Deliver the Difference, Forward Paths Foundation, Deliver the Difference, V.O.R.R.H., and scholarships for local students.
And thanks to Rotary, we are “this close” to eliminating Polio!
