Centennial Celebration of FUM Church of Zephyrhills
Thursday, January 19, 2012
100th Birthday combined worship service, potluck luncheon, and celebratory festivities on Sunday, January 22nd beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Zephyrhills, located at 38635 5th Avenue.
While the committee members, congregation, pastor, and I understand that you and your families may have plans to attend worship services elsewhere on that particular Sunday, it is our fervent hope that perhaps you will be able to join us for part or all of our celebration.
We are inviting you not just because you are media professionals, but also because you are friends, and members of our community who are invested in our city’s welfare, the preservation and appreciation of its history, and its progress.
The 10:30 a.m. worship service will feature elements of both our contemporary and traditional services with music by our in-house Christian rock band “Salvation’s Rock” and our wonderful choir (in their gorgeous rose-colored robes!!
We will open a time capsule, receive a proclamation from Mayor Cliff McDuffie, and will savor a delectable luncheon feast following the worship service.
Do you like dessert? Our parishioners will be making approximately 35 different desserts for the banquet! We will also be serving ham, chicken, green salads, Jello salads, deviled eggs (nearly 50 dozen!), and many more yummy treats.
Won’t you please consider joining us on this very special day in the life of our church? After all…it’s not every day that a local church turns 100!
We hope to see you on Sunday, January 22 at the combined worship service at 10:30 a.m., and/or at the potluck luncheon after the service.
