Searching for the Perfect Flush At Trout Lake Nature Center

Posted on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 1:51 am

Due to the unexpected cancellation of the scheduled June Friday Night Naturalist program, Eileen Tramontana will take you on a humorous journey through the ages to learn how the modern bath and toilet evolved instead. Searching for the Perfect Flush will be held at the Trout Lake Nature Center on Friday, June 15 beginning at 6 PM at TLNC.
This lighthearted look at the history of bathing and flushing explains how bathroom etiquette, myths and culture evolved and changed through the ages. The evolution of bathing and toilets effected how land was developed and water used.
Learn when the first toilet was used and who invented it. Who used the first flush toilet? Was it a royal derriere or commoner? You might be surprised as common myths are dispelled and the “real” facts given. Learn about the changes in social habits regarding bathroom etiquette and use over time all the way to the space age.
This free program is held at the Trout Lake Nature Center, 520 East CR 44, Eustis. $5 donations are suggested to support this independent non-profit’s future programs. For more information, email or call 352.357.7536.
