Tai Chi for Health & Fitness at Golden Triangle YMCA

Tai Chi, a 2000 year old Chinese fitness regimen with origins in the martial arts, features gentle movements similar to yoga and meditation. Relieves stress, increases flexibility and builds strength. The slow twisting and untwisting movements of tai chi massage a practitioner’s internal organs, increases blood circulation, optimizes spinal-nerve transmissions and reduces key stress chemicals in the body, all leading to a more relaxed body and calm mind.
Instructor, John Shea, has studied Chen style Tai Chi since 1999 and been affiliated with the Chinese Boxing Institute International since 1988. His teacher is a direct student of Grandmaster Chen Xiao Wang, who is a tenth-generation descendent of the founder of Tai Chi.
