Tavares Library – September 2019

The City of Tavares Public Library September Programs Calendar is available in a new easy to read at-a-glance format. Pick up a print copy of the calendar at the Tavares Public Library 314 N. New Hampshire Ave. during regular library business hours Monday and Thursday 9:30 am-8:00 pm, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9:30 am-6:00 pm and Saturday 9:30 am-5:00 pm.
September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month. Signing up for a library card opens a world of infinite possibilities: libraries offer resources and services that help people pursue their passions and give students the tools to succeed in both school and life. With a Tavares Public Library card one may borrow audiobooks, DVDs, music CDs, and books in both print and ebook formats.
Since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month has been held each September. During the month, the American Library Association and libraries unite in a national effort to ensure every person signs up or their own library card. FEATURED SPECIAL EVENTS
Pajama Storytime on Thursday, September 5th at 6:00 pm. A special evening storytime for the entire family featuring bedtime stories, sleepy time songs, rhymes and finger plays. Attendees are encouraged to wear their pajamas and bring their favorite bedtime cuddle toy, pillow or blanket.
Constitution Day is September 17, 2019. In celebration of the ratification of the U.S. Constitution, the Tavares Public Library will be distributing free pocket copies of the U.S. Constitution during the month of September. Limited copies available, free while supplies last. One copy per person/household.
Lunch Time Concert: Lakeside Chamber Players on Thursday, September 26th at 12:30 pm. Janet Harris and Craig Hunting of Lakeside Chamber Players will present Bassoon ā€˜nā€™ Fiddle, a one hour recital featuring fun and lively arrangements of popular tunes as well as a light sprinkling of timeless classical melodies.
