The 2019 Season Of Tavares Community Theater Is Going To Open With A Bang!

Posted on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 1:57 am

As many already know, Tavares Theater is moving on. After four years in Bridges they have a greater need for their Family Center. While we are approximately one year shy of our estimated opening of our own venue, we see this as the moment for our patrons to latch onto the excitement of the adventure as we juggle our quality performances to other venues and work to secure the necessary funds to complete the work which we have begun.
January 24, 2019 we will host our first Gala at Eustis Elks Lodge #1578, 2540 Dora Avenue, Tavares, Florida 32778, from 7:00-10:00 p.m. The theme will be Broadway tunes and cruise ships. There will be non-stop entertainment in the main room. If you saw She Loves Me, and liked it, you will be thrilled to see many of the stars back on deck at the Gala. Maybe a little magic? Comedy. The opportunity to go home with art, personal photos, baskets of our community’s finest items, will be available or a ticket for 4 days and 3 nights at a Sheraton, a Universal Studios pass, or a boat or sea plane ride. And don’t forget the food. Last count at least sixteen restaurants have offered samples of their very best. Tickets are $39 each or two for $70 and can be purchased online at www.tavarestheater.org. Questions? Call (352) 343-9944.
We already have an early start on the sales. Just like the building, people want to see this theater make it.
Then the Season Opener “Hate Mail” by Bill Corbett and Kira Obolensky, will be held at the Tavares Civic Center February 8, 9, 15, & 16 at 7:30 PM and 10 & 17 at 2 PM
When a spoiled kid, Preston, meets an angst-filled artist, Dahlia, via a complaint letter which ultimately gets her fired, the articulate “letter-bombs” take you from hate to love and back again. We laughed until it hurt. We think you will too!
