LakeSide Deli and Catering Company is Local and Delicious!

LakeSide Deli and Presentations Catering Company is located at 50 W. Orange Avenue in downtown Eustis, right next to Ferran Park. Owner Michael Sayre, who opened The LakeSide Deli in 2002, has worked most of his life in the food industry. He moved to Lake County from Denver, Colorado and co-owned several catering businesses there. Sayre says, “I love my location. A lot of people get their lunch to go, and go over to Ferran Park to eat.”

The LakeSide Deli has seating both indoors and out, and serves subs, sandwiches, paninis, Reubens, wraps, salads, hot dogs and soup. They also serve food you can’t get at a regular sub shop. All ingredients are fresh and everything is homemade. Shannon Church, who is Sayre’s assistant and has been with the company for six years, helps prepare all the food. The loyal customers return day after day. After eating at the deli, they are hooked!

The catering is simple, affordable and elegant. They accommodate groups from 1-200 people and specialize in weddings, corporate events, holiday events, parties, and luncheons. Sayre uses his advanced cooking skills and experience to prepare gourmet lunches and dinners, scrumptuous hors d’oeuvres, beautiful salads and platters. He regularly caters for the Lake Eustis Institute, an educational institute in downtown Eustis, and private meetings for local businesses.

Some of the more popular catered items are spinach lasagne rolls, yellow squash stuffed with eggplant and pesto, shrimp stuffed with cream cheese and crab, wrapped and baked in a flaky puff pastry, honey mustard batter-dipped chicken with a crispy crust, lollipop chicken, Thai crab cakes, marinated vegetable platters, Greek meatballs, prime rib au jus, and also many breakfast items.

Sayre is a graduate of Scottsdale Culinary Institute, and says, “My roots come from New Orleans, where my mom is from. My forte is basically Italian, Cajun, soups, stocks and sauces - lots of spice.”
