Lake Cares Needs Donations!
Thursday, July 8, 2010
We especially need donations during the summer when children are out of school -- and many parents are hard pressed to afford lunches. Saint Philip’s Lutheran Church of Mount Dora will have a Peanut Butter and Jelly Drive in June, and the Vacation Bible School at First Presbyterian will hold a Macaroni and Cheese Drive June 28 to July 2 that will especially benefit children in our area.
If your church, youth group, mission committee or Sunday School class is interested in collecting food for Lake Cares, give us a call at 383-0100 and we can help you with information, posters, and even a truck to help you deliver food to the pantry!
Similarly, we need continuing help from individuals and local businesses, so that our out-of-school children continue to eat healthily on a regular basis.
Don’t forget that drop-off boxes for Lake Cares are located throughout the Golden Triangle area, including at Olivia’s Coffee House in Eustis, Curves in Eustis, Plantacular in Umatilla, Lake County Democrats office in Tavares, Eva’s Creations in Mount Dora and the Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce. A cash contribution box is also available at The Gourmet Spot in downtown Mount Dora.
