Great Opportunity for Family History Searchers

The Leesburg Public Library is pleased to announce that we are now certified as an official FamilySearch Center. Patrons are now able to come to the 2nd floor Information Desk and request microfilms from the Family History Library in Salt Lake City via InterLibrary Loan. The FamilySearch collection includes over 2.4 million rolls of microfilmed genealogical records.

The catalog is available at their free website, FamilySearch.org. Rental fees are $5.50 per microfilm roll, in advance, for a 30 day loan, renewable twice at $5.50 each loan period, with indefinite loan status after three loan periods; each microfiche card rents for 15 cents and is automatically on indefinite loan status. Neither microfilm nor microfiche may be removed from the library. Printing may be done from the film for 25 cents per page.
