Math and Reading Summer Camps

Thursday, July 8, 2010

Math and reading summer fun camps will be held from July 19-30 (Math Blast!) and from August 2-13 (Reading Adventures!), Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. The camps are designed to inspire kids ages 7-11 to learn to love math and reading through hands-on activities and the use of their imagination. It encourages them to think beyond the classroom walls and textbooks, and to embrace the joy of adventure these two subjects can bring. The camps are

sponsored by House of Restoration Ministries Academy, and taught by Maurice A. Simmons; a Florida Department of Education Certified Teacher, who teaches fifth grade in Lake County. He and his staff are passionate about instilling a love of learning in children.

The fee for each camp is $220 ($22 per day) per child, with only 15 spots available per camp. This includes snacks, materials, and a book, which the kids keep for the Reading Adventures! Camp. There is a 10% discount for families enrolling multiple children. In addition, children who are enrolled and struggling with Math or Reading will receive free tutoring after- camp hours (12:30-1:30 p.m.). The free tutoring is limited to five students per day, first come, first serve. The camps are held at New Hope PCA 19535 Eustis Airport Rd. For registration, call Maurice or Odalys Simmons at 352-383-9253 or 352-396-4499.
