LSCC’S District Board Reelects Officers
Wednesday, July 28, 2010
Lake-Sumter Community College’s District Board of Trustee member Margo Odom was unanimously reelected by fellow trustees to serve as their 2010-2011 chairperson on July 20. Odom, a lifelong Lake Countian and Umatilla resident, was appointed to the Board by former Governor Jeb Bush in 2005. An LSCC graduate, she went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from USF and a master’s degree from Rollins College. She played an active role as a director and past-president of the LSCC Foundation prior to joining the Board, and was Embarq’s regional director of external affairs until her retirement last year.
During his seven years as an LSCC Foundation director, Tim Morris held every office within the fundraising organization, including its presidency. Governor Charlie Crist found him a natural choice to fill a vacant Trustee position in 2007. Also unanimously reelected, Morris will serve as the Board’s vice chairman during the 2010-2011 fiscal year. A Leesburg resident, he is vice president of Ernie Morris Enterprises, Inc.
Lake-Sumter Community College’s nine-member Board of Trustees is made up of five representatives from Lake County and four from Sumter County. Appointed or reappointed by the governor every four years, Board members govern and set policies for the college.
