What Parents Need to Know about Getting Started with eSembler

Thursday, August 12, 2010

eSembler is an online communication tool that allows greater communication from school to home regarding student progress. Teachers use eSembler as a gradebook to report attendance, assignments and grades. Parents are then able to set up an account to view this information. A parent can see day-to-day attendance on their student(s). eSembler also allows a parent to set notification parameters that e-mail a parent when a student falls below a specified grade or attendance parameter.

To access eSembler, you need a computer with internet access, a valid e-mail address, internet browser software and specific student information.

eSembler provides an online tutorial that guides you through the process (http://grades.lake.k12.fl.us), or you can simply click the new account icon to get started. You must know the following information to add a student: student ID; student name; date of birth; student zip code; grade level. Click "save." If the information provided is correct, a link to the student's desktop will be seen.
