Family Martial Arts Center Places TOP 10
Wednesday, August 4, 2010
Our students Phillip Lopez, Samantha Gamboa, Breanna Kleinmann, Reagan Porter and Amanda Kurzsban placed 9th out of 16 teams that qualified for the expert division of Synchronized Team Forms.
These students competed against teams from all over the world and defeated such countries as Germany, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas.
All of the Family Martial Arts Center Demo Team members are between 10 and 13 years of age, and went up against men and women that were all seasoned Black belts and between 20 and 25 years of age.
While most of the other teams have been competing for years, our students just became a Team as of September of 2009. They have all worked very hard, dedicating 2 to 3 hours each day ADDITIONAL PRACTICE to the regular martial arts training.
This was their first National Championship and they placed in the Top 10!
We also had individual champions. They are: Reagan Porter, 3rd Place in Forms; Amanda Kurzsban, 3rd Place in Forms; Claudia Perez, 4th Place in forms and 4th Place in weapons
We are all VERY PROUD OF THEM!
