Lake Technical Center's Fall Term 2011
Lake Technical Center is accepting applications for prospective students for the fall 2011 term that begins August 22, 2011. Several new programs and classes for 2011-12 include: Digital Design I & II, Medical Assisting, Patient Care Assistant, Phlebotomy, Air Conditioning Helper, Introduction to P/V Solar Installation, and Solar Thermal. Also coming this fall is online instruction that will be available through the Ed2Go program. Other programs accepting applications include: Accounting Operations, Administrative Assistant, Auto Collision Repair and Refinishing, Automotive Service Technician I & II, Certified Nursing Assistant, Commercial Foods and Culinary Arts, Commercial Foods and Culinary Arts Apprenticeship, day and evening Cosmetology, Early Childhood Education Apprenticeship, Facial Specialty, Home Health Aide, Medium and Heavy Duty Truck and Bus (Diesel Mechanics), Nail Specialty and day and evening Welding. In addition, a Director Credential Renewal class will begin August 1 and the Director Credential class will begin August 22. EMT, Practical Nursing, Fire Fighter, Law Enforcement, and Corrections have specific application deadlines. Financial aid, such as Pell grants and other scholarships, may be available to those who qualify. Prospective students are strongly encouraged to complete their financial aid paperwork for the fall 2010 term as soon as possible by securing a PIN at www.pin.ed.gov, then applying online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Students attending a Lake County public high school, Florida private secondary school, or home school may be eligible to participate in dual enrollment if they meet required criteria. For more information, contact the Lake Technical Center Admission's Office at 352-589-2250.
Adult Education day and evening classes, including English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Adult Basic Education (ABE), General Education Development (GED), and Applied Academics for Adult Education (AAAE) are available at various locations throughout Lake County. Online instruction for ABE, GED and AAAE is also available. Call 352-589-2250 for more information.
