37th Annual Mount Dora Arts Festival
Friday, January 20, 2012
Downtown Mount Dora will become a sea of tents February 4 and 5 2012 as some of the best festival artists from around the country set up their mini galleries. Thousands of art loving visitors converge on the downtown to buy paintings, glass, sculpture, photography, pottery and more.
The festival in its 37th year is produced by Mount Dora Center for the Arts. It is the largest event in Lake County drawing nearly 300,000 people to quaint, historic Mount Dora.
Art isn't the only attraction. Live music will take place on two entertainment stages. "We added a new entertainment venue this year. We will have beer, BBQ and bands in the Event Center lot located on 5th Ave and McDonald Street," said Beth Miller, Executive Co-Chair.
This is a free family friendly event that offers an area with kid's activities. Patrons who arrive early may be able to find parking within walking distance. Shuttle buses are available at Triangle Shopping Center on Rt. 19, Christian Home and Bible on Donnelly St and Mount Dora High School on Highland and are a great alternative with convenient drop off and pick up at the festival. When you arrive at the festival pick up an event guide and enjoy a day of art and music.
