AARP Tax Assistance

The AARP in Lake County, in cooperation with the IRS, is sponsoring free tax assistance through April 15 for moderate and low income residents, especially those 60 and older, but all taxpayers regardless of age will be assisted at no charge. The services are not limited to AARP members.

AARP Tax-Aide certified counselors will prepare your 2011 income tax return. Appointments are available and may be made at the site or by phone during operating hours. All sites electronically file the tax returns.

Individuals seeking assistance should bring tax documents pertaining to income earned, social security and pensions received, 1099 forms showing interest and dividends, photo ID, and Social Security cards for all those listed on the tax return including dependents, and a copy of the prior year's tax return. The locations and hours are:

Leesburg Public Library, 100 E Main St. Monday through Thursday from 9AM until 1PM. Appointments: 352-272-9658

W.T. Bland Library, 1995 Donnelly St. Mt. Dora Mon, Wed and Thurs 10AM until 2PM and Tues from 1PM until 5;45PM. Appointments 352-735-5936

Jenkins Auditorium, 691 W Montrose St., Clermont Mon through Wed 9AM until 1PM. Appointments: 352-242-8886

Hawthorne Marina, South US Hwy 27, Leesburg Mon through Wed from 8AM until 1PM. Appointments 352-360-6219
