America's Boating Course

As Harris Chain Sail and Power Squadron (HCS) members, our goal is to promote safe boating on our waters and to ensure that every person is equipped with the knowledge needed to make responsible decisions behind the helm.

In order to achieve our goal we conduct Free Vessel Safety Check inspections. These inspections can identify missing or outdated safety items. We also offer a comprehensive variety of public boating education classes. Our popular America's Boating Course is State approved and required for any boater born after 1987. The State of Florida will issue a Boater ID Card upon satisfactory completion. In addition, HCS will also include a free trial membership in our organization for 6 months.

This dynamic one-day course is perfect for new boaters and an excellent refresher for experienced boaters. This class will be held at the Lake Square Mall Community Room. Please enter via the entrance near JC Penney's and head towards the Penney's address. The community room is on the left near the mall entrance to Penney's. The class starts at 8:00 AM and runs until about 5 PM on July 9, 2011.
